The Westchester General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program provides three years of postgraduate training following graduation from an accredited School of Medicine. Our Family Medicine Residency Program is designed to offer comprehensive training in Family Medicine providing the Resident-Physician with all the educational requirements necessary to qualify for board certification in Family Medicine via the examination provided by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and /or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
This program is approved for 6 residents per year for a total of 18 residents. Our unopposed Family Medicine Residency Program offers its residents the opportunity to experience the breadth of medicine from labor and delivery to end of life care. This program includes training and development that fosters qualities of leadership and intellectual integrity with a special emphasis on appreciation of the extraordinary human contact between osteopathic/allopathic family physician and her/his patients.
