POSITION SUMMARY:

To operate the Switchboard/PBX telephones to provide routine information and direct call to appropriate areas.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs function of information clerk.

Performs function of Switchboard Operator.

Documents in the departmental logs as appropriate.

Performs clerical duties as assigned.

Participates in CQI studies as assigned

Required to have flexibility of schedule in order to meet the needs of the patient and family members for purpose of discharge planning, counseling, etc.

Occasionally may require overtime.

Performs other assigned duties as required.

QUALIFICATION:

To do this job you must have the following amount of total education required:

High School graduate or GED preferred.

Switchboard experience in a hospital setting preferred.
